The Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA) was launched by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation in 2006, which aims at doubling productivity and incomes for 30 million farm families by 2020, however, there is little evidence it has contributed to reducing poverty and hunger in rural areas.
